    First saddle and extremely satisfied

My first saddle and happy I chose Trophyline. Venatic is very comfortable and I feel very secure. The 8mm ropes are very lightweight and easy to store. Thanks to team at Trophyline. Can't wait to use it more next season.

    I [mostly] love it!

I’m 5`11” 210lbs and got the M/L and found it to be VERY conformable with minimal adjustment. Could hang for hours and barely notice it’s there. All three rows of gear/molle loops come in handy. The material is noisy, but is literally a non-issue once the saddle is on. The rubberized waist band really helps keep it in place while walking (so long as the belt is tight), and the belt being wide and flat adds to the comfort. Lots of very well thought out details on this saddle, right down the “bridge garage"

    What I don’t like:
Biggest complaint is that the belt and leg straps DO NOT stay tight. You could walk a mile without a problem, then go 10 more feet and have it fall around your ankles. You really have to keep an eye on it. I’ve even had it tight in the tree, climbed down, then have it fall off when I hit the ground and disconnect. The legs straps make it worse, as they loosen up and sag, they tend to pull at the saddle as you walk. The buckles themselves are nice, solid and durable, but are very heavy, noisy until fastened together, and perhaps a big overkill for not bearing much load. The “compression hook” does not stay connected when walking, especially if the leg straps are connected—if loose, your legs pull on the straps and yank the compress hook out of the molle loop, while the act of tightening the leg straps does the same thing. Lastly, I’m not a fan of the bridge setup as it comes from Trophyline. The carabiner is convenient at times, but adds extra noise, bulk and length to the prusik, and I don’t that it doesn’t drop the bridge loop. The bridge rope itself is a little too think and stiff for my preference; and if you try to rotate (so the bridge slides through the tether carabiner), the prusik on the bridge gets hung up on the tether connection (at least on the one side).

Overall, it’s a great piece of gear, but could benefit from some minor manufacturer tweaks or DIY customization—all my complaints have an at home remedy. Solid 3.5 stars that could easily be 5.

    Venatic saddle

I’m new to saddle hunting. In the little time that I’ve spent in it, I’ve noticed that the saddle rides up my back a bit while sitting/moving in the tree but that may be from me not knowing what I’m doing (not having my setup adjusted properly). I’ll keep testing it out - I likely just need to get used to it and keep figuring out my setup. Overall, the saddle seems legit and I’m super stoked /excited on my purchase.

Made very well, lightweight, and sleek. Cannot wait for my boyfriend to try it out after Christmas and for next bow season!!
