Top 3 Questions About Saddle Hunting Answered
When it comes to being on the fence or wanting to begin saddle hunting we are often asked the same 3 questions. These are generally the number one concerns of a hunter, followed quickly by specific questions like "how do you shoot out of a saddle?" or "what pack works best for saddle hunting?". If you are a prospective saddle hunting check out our answers to the top 3 saddle hunting questions!
Yes, you are always connected to the tree via either a lineman's rope or a tree tether to the tree. If a slip or accident happens you simply swing back into the tree hitting your knee perhaps or hip, there is no fall suspension trauma/rescue etc. like what is involved in a tree stand safety harness. All of our saddle hunting gear is 3rd party tested to meet and exceed testing standards.
Yes, instead of just sitting or standing like you must with a tree stand, a saddle offers sitting, leaning, reclining (with a back band), and standing. You can also combine these always switching/relieving any potential pressure points on your feet, bottom, legs, etc. Trophyline is known for some of the most fitting and comfortable saddles on the market, eliminating hip pinch and offering customization to fit your build/body type. Our saddles are often taller and wider offering more support specifically in your lower back to promote comfort all day.
At the most basic level you will need the tree saddle with included bridge, a lineman and tether rope (2 ropes), a way to carry the ropes (typically a pouch or putting into a pack), climbing sticks, a saddle platform, and a pack to carry the saddle hunting gear in. Trophyline offers all of this gear and more to fit every possible need for a new prospective saddle/mobile hunter.
