I have little use so far but first impressions are that they are another quality product from Trophyline. They always have quality products for the budget minded consumer and this looks to be another great example. As always, keep up the good work!
Being New to saddle hunting, I still wanted that feel of a tree harness, plus these keep you saddle up at all times. Great for the walks in wearing your saddle.
I purchased the Specter Venatic kit during the black Friday sale. I was able to use it during the last two weeks of our season in TN and here is what i've gotten so far.
The Good
1 The mobility is great. Light weight and easy to put on before going to the woods
2. Comfort is better than expected. I am 6'0" and weigh 180lbs. size 32 in the waist. The fit of the saddle is great! I've been able to sit longer than I have in a ladder stand.
3. Safety. I have not traditionally used a harness while hunting. I know, its no good. So I have felt really safe while climbing in this saddle. Once I climbed a few times, my trust in the system has grown quickly.
4. Materials are top notch. All the stiching seems to be really well done. I am most impressed with the buckles. Very nice finishes
Cons:
1) Being unfamiliar with the saddle style of hunting, has had its challenges in set up. I would suggest not being afraid to adjust both the linemans belt and the tether once up in the tree. Finding the right length of the linemans belt while climbing took a minute. Also I found that the tether being set at eye sight works best for me. Again the more you use it the more proficient you become.
Overall I would, and have, recommend buying this set up. I'm excited for next season already.
This is a good platform that bites the tree as well as the more expensive one's I have owned
